2010 – ADA Standards for Accessible Design - Covers buildings and facilities in the private sector (places of public accommodation and commercial facilities covered by Title III of the ADA) constructed or altered with private funds and the public sector (state and local government facilities covered by Title II of the ADA) constructed or altered with public funds. Return to top of page
Fair Housing Act (FHA) Design Manual - Design requirements apply to buildings for first occupancy after March 13, 1991 which fall under the definition of "covered multi-family dwellings".  Covered multi-family dwellings are 1.) all dwelling units in a building containing four or more dwelling units if such buildings have one or more elevators and 2.) all ground floor dwelling units in other building containing four or more units. Return to top of page
